Julius Monien was a student of Ludwig Rosenfelder and A. Behrendsen at the Königsberg Academy.  His favorite subjects were forest and seascapes, which he captured in different seasons.  He also created some portraits.

Julius Monien passed away in 1897.  Works of the artist can be found at the Museum of Wroclaw, among others.
